Matt Rampey Has a Blog

About

This is the blog of Matt Rampey: I’m a 31 year old Christ follower, husband, father, barista, and ordained minister in the Wesleyan Church.  I’ve officially left “vocational ministry” for the time being and I’m now finding out that ministry is a lifestyle and not a vocation.  These are my ramblings about life, God, church, and whatever else I deem worthy enough to type out on the keyboard and publish.  You’re welcome to contribute to the conversation by leaving a comment.

Do you remember when I said I wanted to be part of the “Early Day
Saints” not “Latter Day Saints. I agree that the Church needs reformation. I looked up reformed in the dictionary and one meaning is “improved by the removal of faults”. The only way to do this is by going back to Acts in order to get our (The Church”s) act together.
I am just going to ramble on as I just want to get out some of my thoughts. If I make sense on any issue let me know, if you think I’m off base, let me know that also.
Let’s stop calling each denomination a Church. How about Mt. Moriah Wesleyan Fellowship, Biltmore Baptist Fellowship, and when we fellowship, lets have commununion every Sunday.
In trying to reach the world we have compromised with the world; like celebrating Christmas on a pagan feast day, let the world have Xmas( it’s already their’s). Then we can truly celebrate the life, death and ressurection of Christ on Easter with appropriate gifts, not Easter bunnies. I could go on but I think
Matt, perhaps you are being transformed by the renewing of your mind so that you can play a big part in the reformation. As you know, I became born again in my forties and have spent 25 years being transformed. now maybe I too can help with the needed reformation. It will take another Billy Graham with a reformation agenda to start the process.
